RESEARCHER, CLEAN WATER CLEAN ENERGY LAB

I did my thesis on Multistage Bubble Column Dehumidifiers. This would be one of the key component developments that would allow Carrier Gas Extraction to become CAPEX affordable. Developed over 5 different iterations of this device.

May 2010 - September 2010

MECHANICAL DESIGNER, ELECTRIC VEHICLE TEAM

The goal was to do the conversion of a Mercury Milan hybrid to a full electric vehicle. This vehicle would be used to test the feasibility of rapidly recharging vehicles in under 11 minutes in order to travel 200 miles. The vehicle used a 250 hp, 3-phase AC induction motor donated by SatCon, and 8,000 lithium iron phosphate cells from A123Systems.

January 2010 - May 2010

RESEARCH, MECHATRONICS LAB

Working towards building an atomic force microscope (AFM) that is capable of imaging semiconductor wafers and photomasks at high speed and with high resolution. Our high speed AFM is able to scan a full range of 50 microns by 50 microns at a speed of 1000 lines (i.e. take 1 image a second) with a resolution of 0.1 nm. We are expecting this scanner to be able to scan at 1000kHz (i.e. 1000 times faster than conventional AFM).

May 2009-September 2009

ENGINEER, VEHICLE DESIGN SUMMIT

VDS had an ambitious goal of making a parallel hybrid vehicle with 200 mpge for the Indian Market. I worked in Pune, India developing the supply necessary to the building and testing of the carbon fiber safety crumble zones on the car.
